NEW YORK CITY (February 9, 2010) – STARK TO RELEASE THIRD STUDIO ALBUM RACE TO THE FLOOR
STARK will release a third album of nine songs, Race To The Floor, March 9, 2010. The New York City CD Release Party will be held March 13th at 10pm at Arlene's Grocery on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and the first 50 people in the door will receive a free STARK tote bag filled with a copy of the album and other goodies, like autographed posters. There will be several lines of t's and tanks to purchase at a discount for the nights of the parties only. The Pennsylvania CD release will be March 27th at Crocodile Rock Cafe in Allentown as part of Fetzer Fest III. With the addition of Joe Hogan on guitar, expect to have your speakers rattling as you are reminded of 70's FM radio. STARK likes to joke that this is the new classic rock. The original hard rock trio has produced a completely DIY project with Hogan once again doing his magic behind the board, mixing and engineering at Loho Studios, Atlantic Recordings, and Big Blue Meenie. Drummer Eric Robel contributed all of the artwork, including taking the photos on a timer without a photographer. Finally, founder and front-woman Lani Ford, a multi ASCAP Plus award winner and Daisy Rock Guitars endorsed artist, financed the majority of the project while writing all of the lyrics, updating all of the sites, booking gigs and tours, running press and radio campaigns, and maintaining relationships with thousands of contacts. The band is already writing new material for an EP that will feature live tracks from the CD Release Party plus a cover or two. "It can be maddening," says Ford of completing the project with basically 3 people, "but it is very rewarding to know it's a product of our own blood, sweat, and beers! And lots of support from our fans and friends." The album has been "leaked" to a few of STARK's favorite radio and internet stations and has been receiving airplay as well as this comment from Douglas Craig at NYCMusic.net: "I got a chuckle when I saw the title--very Stark!...you guys have knocked this one right out of the park!" In 2009, STARK played GNYC-TV’s M.E.A.N.Y.Fest in NYC at The Studio at Webster Hall. STARK’s Hogan and Ford played the Indiegrrl in the Arts Conference and Showcase in Nashville. Ford was a guest host on the internet show Rew & Who and also DJ'd the New York Waste Compilation CD in the fall of 2009. Lani has appeared on Frankie Russo's Rock Chicks Live on chataboutit.com many times over the past year and was Spotlight Artist for the week of February 8, 2010. Lani also played a 10 day solo acoustic tour in the UK in November 2009, opening for the band Lilith's Army. STARK will be returning to the UK in June 2010. STARK's Lani Ford to play solo acoustic tour in the UK

NEW YORK CITY (October 25, 2009) – STARK’s Lani Ford returns to the UK to play solo acoustic tour
Lani Ford of the New York City hard rock trio, STARK, will return to the UK November 10-20, 2009 to play several acoustic shows with Sylvie T and her band Lilith’s Army with several gigs in Southern England and London, including a return to the legendary Hope & Anchor. When STARK played in the UK in March 2008, while stopping for petrol on the highway between Leeds and London, they met their mirror image in the female-fronted hard rock trio Lilith’s Army. Sylvie T and Lani Ford became fast friends and STARK hosted Sylvie solo acoustic last April in NYC. Now, Lilith’s Army returns the favor and it should be fun as usual as the energy between these two lasses is undeniable and has already culminated in one collaboration between the singer/songwriters so far…they hope to have more after this experience.
Across the pond, STARK played October 2, 2009 for GNYC-TV’s M.E.A.N.Y.Fest in New York City with London Egg, The Grip Weeds, and Frank Sidebottom at The Studio at Webster Hall as part of a Little Steven’s Underground Garage and Wicked Cool Records showcase.
STARK’s Joe Hogan and Lani Ford returned from Nashville in August where the two played seven acoustic duo showcases as part of the Indiegrrl in the Arts Conference and Showcase. Lani will guest host on the radio show Rew & Who December 23rd.
In the summer of 2009, STARK also played the Girls Rock and Girls Rule Showcase at Hank's Saloon in Brooklyn, New York and Make Music New York for the 3rd year in a row. This year, the whole band was featured on Punk Island at Governor’s Island during a day of free music throughout the whole city. Lani Ford, a multi ASCAP Plus award winner and Daisy Rock Guitars endorsed artist, was a featured Triple R Girl for June on www.rockandrollreport.com.

Lani Ford of STARK will play Make Music New York

Lani Ford will participate in Make Music New York again this year with a solo acoustic performance at LaGuardia Corner Gardens on LaGuardia between Houston and W. 3rd Street in Manhattan June 21st 3pm-4pm. Hot off the heels of the release of the sophomore album, Put It To Your Head in January, the replacement of Josette with Joe Hogan and a UK tour in March, plus online, print and radio press, Lani Ford will play an hour’s worth of solo acoustic material, including some brand new songs, for MMNY which is a day of live music outdoors all over the city. Last year, STARK shocked and awed the crowd outside of Otto’s Shrunken Head.
In the meantime, Lani Ford can be seen on Channel 34, The Manhattan Neighborhood Network, on Be Yourself As Well As Art with a recorded live solo acoustic set from the soon to be closed legendary Holland Bar in NYC. The show will air at midnight Friday May 30th (technically Saturday May 31st morning).
STARK has been receiving praise from the amazing Genya Ravan on her two radio shows, Goldie’s Garage and Chicks and Broads on Sirius Radio, Channel 25, for the song “18 Again.” STARK will soon be featured on the upcoming Wicked Cool Records compilation release Goldie’s Garage, Volume 1. Also, STARK’s song “OH NO!” has been receiving a lot of airplay on Radio Gets Wild in the UK. On Put It To Your Head, deep-fried, Texas-sized vocals dripping with underground New York attitude jars the senses with catchy hooks and cool licks. It’s sweet blues-country soul colliding with charming poetic punk rock angst. All 10 songs are written by Lani Ford.
